The attorney for a Mid-Missouri woman convicted last month of first-degree involuntary manslaughter in a 2012 head-on collision on Interstate 70 filed a motion for a new trial Tuesday.
Kelli C. Smith’s defense attorneys and prosecutors also were scheduled to debate a motion Wednesday afternoon asking Montgomery County Circuit Judge Wesley Dalton to order that a rape kit administered on Smith after the crash be tested for male DNA.
