The coincidence of being released from prison just before a holiday when Americans celebrate freedom was not lost on Anthony Williams.
Williams was in Columbia on the evening of July 3 with members of his family. They were all guests at a Fourth of July party hosted by local attorney Jennifer Bukowsky, who represented Williams, at her house just south of Columbia.
Bukowsky had worked for more than a year to free Williams, who was sentenced to life without parole 20 years ago when he was 14 years old.
